I think a question that has to be answered is: Is the blog just going to talk about Easter Eggs and its definitions?
Nah, at least not now.
I'll be talking about what is considered an Easter Egg and some examples in modern media…maybe some history. Right now, there's a lot I could report on, and I certainly can report on it, but I plan to take this to another level.
Behind the scenes.
A big part of Easter Eggs are the people who put them there. It tells the audience that yes, they have fun and they love what they do. It's that stamp of approval by the creators that cements the validity of the product. When we see a potential Easter Egg, it's an "A ha!" moment. You tell yourself, "I found that hidden thing!" Sometimes, an Easter Egg isn't just singular moment, a lot of games pepper Easter Eggs all over their game and you'll get rewarded for finding all of them.
So we'll be talking about Easter Eggs, but we will also talk to people that make them. It's a celebration of the people behind the curtain, the people whose very job is to make sure you notice AND don't notice their work.
I used to work in video games. The people there work so hard to give you the best gaming experience and they never get noticed. They are the Easter Eggs of the industry. Fans themselves.
In addition, I'll hit the conventions. The Easter Eggs of society. The places that few people go to, but a lot more want to go to. They're advertised everywhere, but only happen once every year…maybe even two or three. Think about the "A ha!" moment that you say to yourself when you enter a main hall of a convention that interests YOU. It's mind blowing, to say the least.
This is how I will plan to expand the site. Hopefully you can come along for the ride.
